Art Garden Hotels
For the inaugural edition of Art Garden Hotels, over 100 works will be exhibited in the gardens of Garden Hotels Switzerland from April to November 2026.
Visitors have the opportunity to discover the works of 30 Swiss artists at 21 locations. The artworks were specially curated for the respective hotel gardens, thus harmonizing with the chosen surroundings. This created a unique open-air gallery in each garden, open to all interested parties.
The various locations can be easily combined. This creates individual routes through different regions, gardens, and art forms. A look at the map below will help with orientation.
Numerous events also take place as part of the Art Garden Hotels. The formats are diverse and site-specific. Encounters with artists, workshops, and specific interventions complement the garden exhibitions. The relevant dates and information will be continuously updated under Events.
Bad Ragartz Collaboration
The Garden Hotels Switzerland project is developed in close collaboration with the Swiss Sculpture Triennial Foundation, which is responsible for Bad Ragartz. Both formats remain independent yet exist within a shared context. This way, art in the garden connects with an internationally networked exhibition event. In 2027, Art Garden Hotels will take place concurrently with the 10th Bad Ragartz Triennial.
«The greatest art in life is connecting people through shared experiences. It's wonderful when this also generates economic and tourism-related momentum.»
Esther & Rolf Hohmeister, Initiators of Bad Ragartz

Exhibition Venues
The exhibitions take place in the gardens and parks of the 21 Garden Hotels Switzerland. Together, these green spaces cover approximately 160 hectares. Each location presents at least one artistic position. In total, around 100 sculptures and installations can be seen in the garden spaces.
News

The artworks of Sonja Riemer revolve around the human condition. They explore inner states, memories, change, and the question of how we position ourselves in a changing world. Her works are both powerful and understated. She creates sculptures and paintings that don't aim for immediate impact, but rather for atmosphere and emotional depth.

In summer 2026, Schatzalp, above Davos, will transform into an open workshop for art, encounters, and collaborative construction. Together with the artist collective PIALETO, as part of the Art Garden Hotels initiative, a walk-in light sculpture in the shape of a giant cat will be created there. Approximately 4 x 7 meters in size, situated amidst the Davos mountains and directly in front of the historic Berghotel Schatzalp.
And the best part: Here, you don't just watch; you actively participate in the building process.

The first edition of Art Garden Hotels 2026 has officially launched with two atmospheric events on Lake Geneva and in the Emmental region. Representatives from tourism, culture, business, and hospitality, along with numerous artists and media, celebrated the kick-off of a project unique across Switzerland, combining art, nature, and hospitality.
