Artist Sonja Riemer creates expressive paintings and sculptures in acrylic, oil, metal, and clay, exploring themes such as humanity, nature, and transience.
Born in Austria in 1981, Sonja Riemer developed an autodidactic practice early on and deepened it through courses in photography, painting, and sculpture in Vienna and Salzburg. She has regularly exhibited her work since 2008. In 2015, she moved to Switzerland and has since worked as a freelance artist, focusing on painting and sculpture. From 2019 to 2022, she completed a diploma program in Fine Arts with a focus on sculpture in Zurich. Her practice is characterized by spatial thinking, material-based work, and continuous engagement with various exhibition contexts.
