Ivo Soldini creates sculptures that center on the human figure. His works depict inclined, compressed, or upright bodies. They explore inner tension and the relationship between the individual and the community.
Ivo Soldini was born in Lugano in 1951 and lives in Ticino. After studying in Milan, he turned to sculpture early on. The figure is central to his work. He is interested in its inner tension and its posture in space. Inclined, twisted, or closely grouped bodies characterize his oeuvre. In addition to smaller formats, he also creates monumental sculptures for public spaces. Bronze plays a central role, as do aluminum and plaster. In parallel, Soldini also works in drawing and painting, where the figure remains the starting point of his artistic exploration.
