The Lovers
The two figures stand side by side, looking in the same direction. A couple that has found each other.
But the back tells another story, of what is not shown, of thoughts that remain hidden within. He would rather be a playful cat, light-footed, free, instead of the orderly person his partner wants to see in him (Figure 1). And she would rather do nothing for once, instead of always functioning amiably, as he needs her to (Figure 2). Both carry their wishes silently within – yet they remain standing side by side, with all that they are and all that they would rather be.
