At Kartause Ittingen, enjoyment is intrinsically tied to the location. What grows in the gardens and fields, in the vineyards or orchards, finds its way almost directly to the kitchen and cellar.
Herbs, vegetables, fruits, and edible flowers come from our own gardens, complemented by products from the estate's operations, including dairy farming, livestock breeding, viticulture, cheese making, butchery, wood-fired bakery, and fish farming. This diversity yields around 200 products, which are processed and offered in the restaurant and monastery shop. The Kartause embraces a consistent 0-kilometer philosophy, prioritizing origin, seasonality, and craftsmanship.
A menu consisting exclusively of Ittingen ingredients, accompanied by our own wine, makes this approach immediately tangible. Here, enjoyment isn't created through elaborate staging, but through proximity, care, and respect for what the place yields.
