Two Towers
Steff Lüthi's towers act as silent markers in space.
The theme of Steff Lüthi's towers is Babylonian and serves as a reflection of our time. They explore the human drive to constantly aspire higher – symbolized by the vertical form of the tower.
The iron material used alludes to the foundation of our modern high-energy culture, while the small, bronze-cast figures depict humanity in its role within this system. The juxtaposition of the delicate figures' scale and the tower's height creates a tension that prompts questions.
They draw on familiar architectural forms and translate them into a reduced, almost poetic visual language. Navigating stability and fragility, they offer new perspectives on height, density, and equilibrium. Lüthi's works invite viewers to pause and rediscover the relationship between object, environment, and their own perception.
