Bing-Bang Bois

«Bing-Bang Bois» is a kinetic sculpture by Étienne Krähenbühl, constructed as a large, open sphere of wood and metal. In the courtyard of the Kunstmuseum Thurgau, it reacts to touch and wind movement, changing its form and sound, thereby making movement, resonance, and space tangibly perceptible.

The sphere breathes in space, allowing the universe to echo with each of its rebirths. The moment this mass unleashes its full power, the sound and the waves it creates permeate us – we, the vibrating spectators, witnesses to a dizzying embrace with the emerging universe.

60 cm diameter sphere, shape-memory alloy wires, 174 elements of patinated oak wood
