Karin Hofer

Karin Hofer was born in Emmental and lives and works in Zurich. Since 2015, her focus has been on sculpture. Many of her works begin with solid wood, which she shapes with a chainsaw. Depending on the direction, the rough volumes are further refined and complemented with natural pigments. In addition to wood, she also works with marble, concrete, and clay. Her practice is characterized by introspection and reactions to current global events. Her works are created in her own studio and evolve from a focused, material-driven process.
