Truffes du Château - True treasures lie hidden in the castle park!
The summer truffle, also known as the Burgundy truffle, originates from Southern Europe and is one of the most expensive edible fungi in the world. Contrary to popular belief, truffles are not primarily found in forests, but in places that might sound quite surprising to the layman: for example, in parklands, by the roadside, or near stone walls and tram tracks. Besides calcareous soils, truffles particularly appreciate places with good energy and where people like to gather. Fortunately, the spacious Hünigen Castle Park, with its ancient trees and over 3,000 rose bushes, is just such a spot.
Enjoyment under the Redwood Tree
In summer 2021, Hünigen Castle is part of the campaign "Rendez-vous – The Table for Reunion". The table for conscious reunion is located under the giant redwood tree in the middle of the castle park. A truly perfect place to spend a balmy summer evening with good friends. True to the motto "Savoir vivre", numerous delicacies from the castle kitchen are served al fresco. Guests are served our Mediterranean Tavolata. The table can be booked for breakfast, lunch, or dinner for 4-12 people. In case of bad weather, a table is available in our castle cellar.
Loft in the Castle Park
The freestanding bed is located right next to the small stream «Kiese» in Hünigen Castle Park. The sound of the stream ensures a unique sleep, and in the morning, you're gently awakened by the sun.
The offer includes the use of the luxurious loft, which provides a lot of privacy. The castle park, with its ancient trees, invites you to relax.
Fondue Tent in the Middle of the Castle Park
As the days grow shorter, enjoy a cozy fondue in good company. From November, we serve fondue from cheese affineur Jumi in our exclusive fondue tent in the middle of the castle park.
