Urs P. Twellmann was born in Langnau im Emmental in 1959. He studied at the School of Design in Bern and in New York. Since the late 1970s, he has worked as a freelance sculptor. His practice centers on an intensive engagement with wood. Twellmann explores its properties with patience and openness. His works range from small sculptures to large-scale sculptures, installations, and temporary interventions. Landscapes and seasons inform the creative process. The tension between order and disorder remains a conscious presence.
