February takes us up to 1,861 m above sea level, to the former luxury sanatorium on the sunny Schatzalp.
An old diamond with a modern cut
The Schatzalp was conceived in 1900 as a luxury sanatorium and was the most advanced healing institution in the region. The style of the entire sanatorium building represented a significant step in early 20th-century architecture. By merging and reinterpreting various styles, something unprecedented emerged, which can therefore be regarded as a direct precursor to modernism.

Peace and quiet, not hustle and bustle
Relaxation, peace, and winter as it once was, can be found after just a 4-minute ride on the Schatzalpbahn, located in the center of Davos Platz. During winter operation, the "Magic Mountain of Davos" offers prepared and easily accessible hiking trails through the snow and the small but excellent Schatzalp-Strela ski area: peace and quiet instead of hustle and bustle, coziness instead of a frantic pace.

Special Package for You
One free night at the Schatzalp: Stay 7 nights and pay for only 6.

Botanical Alpine Garden Alpinum
Here and there, a hint of spring is already noticeable, and new growth tentatively begins in the botanical garden, which spans over 5 hectares. It consists of various individual gardens, which together house over 5,000 species and varieties of diverse plants from all over the world. Among them are many rarities, including over 80 different types of edelweiss. From mid-May, flowers appear in all corners of the Alpinum, and in July and August, everything blooms in a magnificent riot of color, with new blossoms appearing daily until autumn.
